MOTION OFFENSE AND MAN TO MAN DEFENCE AT A DOMESTIC LEVEL

ABOUT THE CLINICS

Hi,

I’ve designed this clinic to help domestic coaches in a few simple ways, because I recognise coaching at a domestic level has a lot of challenges: short single training sessions, usually only on a half court, and usually with fluid player numbers week to week.

In more recent years, there’s also been a push to ban zones at u12 and u14 age groups, which can add another layer of complexity to things.

I want to do 2 things with this clinic:

  1. Help domestic coaches get the most out of a training session on a half court, in a short period of time, with limited and odd numbers.
  2. Teach domestic coaches the benefits of motion offense and man to man defense for both player development, but also coach and player enjoyment.

For the last 5 years I’ve basically said yes to every coaching opportunity that came my way, and ended up at some stages coaching 8 domestic teams per weekend. That also meant a lot of 1 hour sessions under lots of different circumstances.

I will show coaches how to teach all facets of the game with minimal equipment (1-2 basketballs, optional cones, and some bibs) efficiently and effectively.

I will also spend a lot of time explaining how to teach motion offense, which is actually the fun part of teaching man to man defense.

The Clinic will run across 2 weeks before the first of our Rep Ready player sessions (August 5th & 12th 12 to 1pm)

I hope to see you there!
